Ingleby hits paydirt at last

Ingleby learns that Sewell is attempting to win Grace’s affections and Esmond learns his chances with her are slim

Chapter 13 – Esmond Requires Information;
Ingleby and Seward entertain a convalescing Major Coulthurst with chess and are taken with the charms of Grace

Chapter 12 – The Major’s Bear;
Ingleby and Sewell rescue Major Coulthurst

Chapter 11 – Ingleby Ventures a Remonstrance;
Ingleby goes head-to-head with Esmond

Chapter 10 – Unrest;
The miners, headed by Sewell take their grievances to the head office of the Mounties where they are met with no sympathy

Chapter 9 – Hetty Finds a Way;
With supplies running dangerously low, Ingleby fears he will have to give up his claim

Chapter 8 – Ingleby, Ledger and Hetty make the long arduous trek to the diggings

Chapter 7 – Loading freight, Ingleby is astonished to see Grace and learn she and her father are headed to the Yukon

Chapter 6 – Ingleby and Ledger find work in Vancouver City and hear a rousing new socialist speaker in the park
